Yes, i realize, an insanely looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooong time. so sorry i've been away, but life has moved inexorably forward and i've had no access to the internet. So, April, i will tell you just 'where the fuck' i have been in a few moments.
First of all, i would like to thank Lynne for sending me the comic book Fables volume one. I had, at one point in my life, actually had that story in the seperate issues, but with the many moves, i have misplaced them. I am glad to have it back and you have rekindled my interest in the series.
Now... here goes with the explanations... because quite a bit has happened since i last was on these inter of nets, and it may be a while before i get back. As we all know, i was fired from my position at Legacy Community Health Services, and i was bitter about it. Still am.
Today, i am currently emplyed at Kelsey Seybold Clinic, routing telephone calls, setting appointments, making crappy marketing calls. I have been working there for about four months now, and i already make a doll-fifty more an hour that i did at legacy. In fact, i got that raise after only three months, and life is good again.
Marisa and i got back together, and are now an item all over again. Thankfully, we seemed to have learned from our past mistakes (i know i have) and have been going strong since november of 06 and we are happy.
Here's the big news:
I am a daddy. My baby, Loralei Diana (or as i like to call her: Lor-Dee) Paredes was born at 10:15 am on tuesday june 12th, prematurely and weighing a little less than two pounds eight ounces (or one kilo, depending on where in the world you are). It was good fortune, then, that Marisa and i finally decided what her name was going to be on monday, june 11th. Very good indeed. My mom and sister came down to visit us almost instantly, and together we went out and bought a crib and blankets and other such needed baby things. I cannot believe that i am a father. it's just so mind blowing. Today, she is doing great, she has trouble breathing on her own, but that's to be expected with how soon she came (she was only six and a half months into her term). But she has Marisa's long and slender hands, and my big and freaky feet. LOL. I've got one of these pairs of feet where my big to is shorter than the toe right next to it, and Loralei shares this trait. She is just so very tiny and very squirmy and very, very fiesty. The doctors have high hopes. I have higher certainties, and i anxiously await the day that my daughter comes home with me, when she's out of that incubator in the newborn intensive care unit (NICU) and in my arms.
Sadly, a week after Loralei was born, my dog, Serreptitious (Serrep for short) passed away. She had cancer, and we found it too late. The veteranarian said that she would have died in two weeks, so we had to put her down. Alas, my poor doggie is little more than ash contained in a box. I miss her greatly. She was a great companion, a true friend, and will always be remembered as my bestest friend.
Well, that brings us up to date upon epic happenings in my life. The rest is pure day to day doldrums. I play videogames, watch tellevision (without cable yet again... crappy network tellevision) visit my daughter on a daily basis in the NICU. I saw Transformers, which was awesome. I have heard from many, many naysayers who say it was crappy, but i thought it was good. Accept it for what it is people! It cannot be all things to everyone. So sorry it can't be exactly like you remembered. I've played God of War 2, and i like it, just not as much as the first. I just don't think the story is as strong. Still leaps and bounds above others, but not as gripping as the first in my opinion. I want to watch the latest harry potter move and i'm up to the thirsd book in the novels... I also want to see the Bourne Ultimatum, which comes out next month. Read Skulldugery Pleasant, a great book in the childrens section. By Derek Landy. I absolutely adored it and am eagerly awaiting the sequel... or another book by him, whichever comes first.
Well, that just about does it peoples. I know i've left a lot out, but i did so for the sake of brevity. But, there you are in a proverbial nutshell. I hope you can forgive me April. Incurring your wrath is something i'd prefer to avoid.
